Our approach is to expose and enhance the historic fabric, where it exists, and overlay this with a palette of calm colours fused with natural and contemporary materials to provide rooms with layers of texture and subtle depth. Blending contemporary, bespoke, and antique furniture alongside art, sculpture and eclectic, and often overscale, pieces creates homes that are both individual and elegant yet comfortable and practical.
We believe this is often the most important stage of any project and where the most value can be added to a home. Understanding the client’s needs and lifestyle is the starting point and critical to ensuring the optimal functional configuration of each space along with the flow and circulation required to ensure ease and comfort across the whole house. All of this needing to be considered within the parameters of applicable planning and conservation law.
We offer a full architectural design service from concept to completion and have developed significant expertise and experience in historic and listed buildings. We focus on creating stunning spaces that retain and enhance the historic features of the building.
We provide full working drawings and construction oversight.
So much of what makes a scheme are the elements that unite and connect spaces across the house and often across centuries when dealing with historic homes. It is during this design phase that internal doors, ironmongery, bespoke joinery, architraves, cornices, and staircases are designed and selected. It is also at this stage that we undertake the detailed design for kitchens and bathrooms. We are award winning kitchen and bathroom designers and take pride in designing all these critical items in-house.
With homes moving towards multi-function living spaces and seamless indoor/outdoor lifestyles; lighting has become critical to creating the necessary moods and functionality for all purposes. Due to this we see lighting design as an interior-design led necessity not separate design stream and therefore provide full decorative and technical lighting design as part of our offering for all projects.
